2008 highlights:

Ivana Bilic started an exciting project with the award-winning young string quartet Matangi from the Netherlands. After performing together in Zagreb and Dubrovnik, they decided to work further and have pieces specially comissionned by a Croatian and a Dutch composer.

Tamara Obrovac  succesfully began collaboration with String Quartet Epoque from Prague with concerts in Rovinj and Pula.

Ensemble Dialogos (France) launched a new project called Dalmatica, in which the medieval music specalists collaborate with the traditional Croatian song ensemble Kantaduri.

The Academy of Ancient Music (UK) started their world-wide tour with a performance at the Varaždin Baroque Evenings festival. Also at Varaždin, Dutch ensembles Camerata Trajectina and Brisk Recorder Quartet returned to Croatia, and had successful tours in the North of the country, Hungary and Austria.

The early winds ensemble Les Sacqueboutiers (France) was in co-production with the Choir of the Croatian-Radio television, which they preformed in both Zagreb and Varaždin.

Both our Early Music Festival (September 2008) and Musica Eterna International Season were well received by the audiences of Dubrovnik and our partner the Municipality of Dubrovnik; both will be developed further in 2009.

In October, renowned period dance specialist and choreographer Ana Yepes came back to Dubrovnik for her second Baroque Dance and Music course for the pupils of the Luka Sorkocevic School of Arts. She was joined there by choirmaster Peter Asprey and violinist Jorge Jimenez who taugh the choir and orchestra towards a performance in the Dubrovnik Theatre.

The London Handel Festival had another successful year, and we are continuing our collaboration with them for their fundraising activities, towards Handel's 50th anniversary year in 2009.
