highlights:
Ivana Bilic started an exciting project with
the award-winning young string quartet Matangi
from the Netherlands. After performing together in Zagreb and Dubrovnik, they
decided to work further and have pieces specially comissionned by a Croatian
and a Dutch composer.
Tamara
Obrovac succesfully
began collaboration with String Quartet Epoque
from Prague with concerts in Rovinj and Pula.
Ensemble
Dialogos (France)
launched a new project called Dalmatica, in which the medieval music specalists
collaborate with the traditional Croatian song ensemble Kantaduri.
The Academy of Ancient Music (UK) started their
world-wide tour with a performance at the Varaždin Baroque Evenings festival. Also at Varaždin, Dutch ensembles Camerata Trajectina and Brisk Recorder Quartet returned to Croatia, and had successful tours in the North of the country, Hungary and Austria.
The early winds ensemble Les Sacqueboutiers (France) was in
co-production with the Choir of the Croatian-Radio television, which they
preformed in both Zagreb and Varaždin.
Both our Early Music Festival (September 2008) and Musica Eterna International Season were well
received by the audiences of Dubrovnik and our partner the Municipality of
Dubrovnik; both will be developed further in 2009.
In
October, renowned period dance specialist and choreographer Ana
Yepes came back to Dubrovnik for her
second Baroque Dance and Music course for the pupils of the Luka Sorkocevic
School of Arts. She was joined there by choirmaster Peter
Asprey and violinist Jorge Jimenez
who taugh the choir and orchestra towards a
performance in the Dubrovnik Theatre.
The London Handel Festival had another successful year, and
we are continuing our collaboration with them for their fundraising activities,
towards Handel's 50th anniversary year in 2009.

Mikhael Agrest ravnao je Simfonijskim
orkestrom Hrvatske radio-televizije.
Pijanist
Nikolai Demidenko nastupio je na Dubrovačkim
ljetnim igrama i u Koncertnoj dvorani
Cankarjev dom u Ljubljani (Slovenija).
Barokni orkestar Europske unije, pod ravnanjem Lars Ulrik Mortensena, imao je uspješnu ljetnu
turneju po Hrvatskoj: Varaždin, Rijeka, Zadar,
Split. Ovo je bio njihov četvrti posjet Hrvatskoj, a drago nam je što će ponovo
biti s nama na turneji 2009.
Ensemble Dialogos (Francuska) kojeg vodi poznata muzikologinja i pjevačica Katarina Livljanić iz Hrvatske, nastupao je na
festivalu Večeri u sv. Donatu Zadru, te na Splitskom ljetu. Osvojili su nagradu Judita za najbolju glazbenu predstavu na
Splitskom ljetu za scensku adaptaciju i predstavu Judite, djela temeljenog na spjevu Marka Marulića, hrvatskog
pisca iz 15-tog stoljeća.
Accademia Bizantina (Italija) osvojila je nagradu Ivan Lukačić za najbolji nastup na festivalu Varaždinske barokne večeri, na kojem su nastupali u
rujnu. Njihov uspješan nastup publika je ispratila ovacijama a izvedbom su
osvojili i stručni žiri.
Gabrieli Consort and Players pod ravnanjem Paul McCreesha nastupili su u ciklusu Lisinski
subotom u Koncertnoj dvorani Vatroslav Lisinski
u Zagrebu.
U
studenom je poznata koreografkinja i plesačica, specijalistica za barokni ples,
Ana Yepes, sa svojim Yepes Trio (Francuska/Španjolska) podučavala
barokni ples i glazbu učenike Umjetničke škole Luka
Sorkočević u Dubrovniku.
U
listopadu smo bili pozvani na Dutch Chamber
Music Meeting, predstavljanje
nizozemskih ansambala, kojom prigodom smo promovirali hrvatske umjetnike.
Nastavljamo
suradnju sa London Handel Festivalom na
projektima Handelovog pjevačkog natjecanja i
edukacijskim projektima festivala.
